At our recent Assembly, we were reminded of what it means to be a movement walking with courage, trusting Jesus to show us the way.
Held simultaneously at Darwin Baptist (NT) and The Church on Albert (SA), there were many moments from the day worth sharing.
To start the day, Melinda Cousins (Director of Ministries) shared about the glimpses of renewal and revival in Australia, and the stories we can draw from past revivals that help us look with hope to the future.

This Assembly was also an opportunity to hear from Indigenous leaders from our Northern Territory churches, who had gathered in Darwin earlier in the week to pray, encourage one another, and grow together.
It was a rare but significant time of connection. MK from Lajamanu shared a poetic summary of the gathering titled ‘Our Journey with God’, and Herbert (representing Katherine Warlpiri) led us in prayer, in language.
Our President, Elizabeth Moncrieff-Philp, offered reflections on Reconciliation Week and the story of reconciliation in our own movement.

Three important votes were passed; Ken Henderson was affirmed as an Accredited Pastor. Ken has served faithfully across Adelaide in many roles over the years and is currently the Senior Pastor at Playford Baptist. We celebrated as Hope Arabic Church joined as full members of our movement, and Adelaide Lisu Christian Church were welcomed as affiliate members.
An exciting new project is also in the works, titled ‘The 2035 Project‘. Des Ong, Project Consultant, shared the heart of the project, which helps churches to have foresight, be culturally intelligent, and anticipate what our local communities will look like in 2035.
We are so thankful for Darwin Baptist Church and The Church on Albert for graciously hosting us. We hope you’ll consider joining us at our next Assembly on the 25th October.
