Our local context is changing…
The 2035 Project helps churches posture themselves with foresight and anticipate what our local community will look like in 2035.
We have noticed some rapid changes in Australian culture and community, as well as a growing complexity in leading local churches well.
Research shows there’s a decline in religious affiliation, a substantial shift in local demographics, and yet, spiritual hunger is rising.
We’re inviting churches and leaders to reflect on three essential questions:

The Cultural and Contextual (CQ) Intelligent Church
We believe that developing Cultural and Contextual Intelligence (CQ) is essential. It equips us to wisely engage with:
- Ethnic diversity — understanding and honouring the cultures in and around our churches
- Generational differences — with eight generations currently alive, how do we lead across eras and expectations?
- Church culture — every church has a unique flavour, shaped by history, values, and ministry rhythms
CQ invites us to listen deeply, lead wisely, and embody the gospel in a way that speaks meaningfully to those around us.
