Pray for the world as you walk your world.
In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Paul encourages the church to “…pray continuously…” As a movement, the Baptist Churches of South Australia and Northern Territory family of churches is being invited to come together to honour God’s desire for his people to spend time in prayer with him and pray collectively for our neighbourhoods, our country, and our world over one weekend. Baptist Mission Australia is inviting you join us in our annual, free, interactive prayer event…Walk the World. Walk the World is an invitation for churches, families, groups, and people of all ages to get out in our local area and pray for our neighbourhoods, Australia, and the world, for the needs we see on the news, in our Teams’ newsletters and the needs concerning individuals around us. God loves to hear his people praying.
Across the weekend of 7-9 Nov 2025 (if this weekend doesn’t suit- just choose one that does!), we are encouraging you to commit to praying as you walk, run, wheel, cycle, imagine, or drive around your local neighbourhood. You can also stay in one place and have a picnic! There are plenty of fun, creative activity ideas to inspire your church to Walk the World on our website. Here are some to get you started:
1. Explore a world map with your children and pray for each country you talk about.
2. Use the Prayer Guide (on the website) to inspire prayer for your neighbourhood, Australia, and the world.
3. Create a video or artwork for the Walk the World Video Challenge.
Will you join with us to “pray continuously” for God to be at work in His beautiful, broken world?
