The new Pastoral Stipend & Employment Recommendations for 2026 for SA & NT churches are now available. These have also been uploaded to the BCSANT website and can be accessed via the button below.
This is now the second year of using the Matrix framework as the primary system to calculate wages for pastors.
BCSANT recommends that this matrix be used for all new employees, but recognises there may continue to be transitional arrangements for many churches and pastors. This is to ensure that no employee is disadvantaged by the change of model, as well as to enable churches time to implement the new model.
Therefore, in these 2026 recommendations, both sets of guidance have again been provided, i.e. both the current framework (matrix) and the ‘old system’. We encourage churches to have conversations with their pastors and move towards using the matrix at an agreed level by the beginning of 2027.
