Responding to domestic and family violence

We want our churches to be safe communities for those affected by domestic and family violence

Our churches are voices and agents for change in our neighbourhoods. We encourage you to invite people into your church as a safer space, and explore ways you can change the story for families in your area.

In 2017 our Australian Baptist Ministries (ABM) National Council released a statement on Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). We remain committed to that statement and continue to explore how we can support churches in becoming safer spaces for people experiencing DFV.

To assist with this, please explore the Safer Spaces Toolkit, a free resource from ABM created specifically for Baptist churches and pastors.
