NT Baptists, assemble!

This year, we’ll hear from Dan Beasy (Associate Director of Ministries, BCSANT) and Sarah Lenigas (Baptist World Aid). Dan has recently completed 15 years in senior leadership roles at Rostrevor Baptist Church in Adelaide, and loves to share Biblical truths that help people be with Jesus and become like him. Sarah has recently joined Baptist World Aid and is passionate about helping people connect their identity in Jesus with the way they live in the world.

Being and making disciple-makers

Dan Beasy, Baptist Churches SA & NT

About this elective

Anyone, anywhere, anytime can make disciples of Jesus. Because God’s mission has been entrusted to ordinary people – not just professional pastors. Looking at the life and rhythms of Jesus, this session will explore what it looks like to be a well-balanced disciple and to disciple others towards faith in Jesus. If you’ve ever wondered “Could I really do this?”—the answer is yes. You don’t need a title, a platform, or a perfect plan. Just a willingness to follow Jesus and invite others along the way.

Foundations for healthy church governance

Melinda Cousins, Baptist Churches SA & NT

About this elective

Good leadership in the church is discipleship in action. Governance is about stewarding people, mission, and resources with wisdom so the church can flourish. In this elective, we’ll focus on the core responsibilities of those in leadership – leadership teams like elders, deacons, and council members – and how they lead with both spiritual discernment and practical wisdom.

We’ll explore how leaders remain anchored in Scripture and shaped by the mission and values of the church, while making thoughtful, prayerful decisions that serve the whole community and its wider obligations. Rather than getting lost in structures or processes, this session will focus on the heart of healthy leadership – clarity of role, shared responsibility, trust, and integrity.

Together, we’ll unpack what it looks like to lead well in a local church: making decisions that are faithful and wise, fostering a healthy culture, and ensuring our leadership reflects the character and priorities of Jesus.

It takes a church to raise a parent

Tash Pillay, Baptist Churches SA & NT

About this elective

The African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child,” reminds us that children are formed within community—faith is no different. Parents are on the front line, but were never meant to do it alone.

In this elective, we’ll explore how the church can come alongside parents, carers, and grandparents—equipping and encouraging them to raise authentic followers of Jesus, and cultivating a culture where faith is nurtured across generations.

Converting your online presence

Ruth Grace, Baptist Churches SA & NT

About this elective

As churches, we know it’s important to have a voice in the digital world, but it can feel SO hard, particularly when you don’t know where to start, what to say, and how to keep things going without dropping the ball. Perhaps you feel like you don’t have the tools to make it all happen. Or things never seem to turn out the way you want them to…

In this elective, we’ll talk about how you can use your church website, social media, and email to welcome and follow up with church visitors. We’ll give you some simple steps to help reenergise your communication and get you on your way to doing digital well.

You can choose to attend the whole gathering full-time, or choose to come to one part. Either way, we’d love to see you there!

Full time – $35
Friday night only – $25 (includes dinner)
Saturday only – $15 (includes lunch)
