Serving at Camp

All leaders will be assigned to lead/co-lead a small group of children. Is there an age-group you think you relate well to? *

As well as the preparation for leading a small group and general camp organisation, we have a number of events which may be the following, or variations of these: Games – help plan and run games for the camp. Themed Dinner – creating a decorated space with themed elements for our special dinner. Craft Preparation – helping with preparing craft actvities leading up to camp. Welcome Ceremony – creating an atmosphere with actvities for campers to participate in as an introduction to camp. Technology – helping to set up and manage the sound and data. Worship – being part of the team to lead worship in our chapel sessions.

Kids Camp Team Meetings will be held on the 16th June in person – further details to be provided closer to the date. There will also be an online zoom meeting before camp, details TBA.

Documentation

All leaders will need to provide a current Working With Children Check (WWCC). All leaders 18+ (as at camp) are required to have completed the Baptist SA & NT Child Protection Training (Child Protection Solutions). Please contact us via email at [email protected] if you need to discuss this training with us. Any leader suspecting abuse or neglect of a camper shall report to the Child Abuse Report Line or ask a member of the Camp Executive to do so on their behalf. Before making a report, all leaders MUST inform the camp committee that they intend to make a report (must provide name of camper, date and time). Leaders must accept advice from the camp committee on follow-up etc. If an alleged abuse or neglect is shared in a public meeting, the responsibility to follow-up is with the small group leader, camp committee and any leader already involved in the situation.
